Aspire to HE’s Outreach Hub programme is a new initiative which aims to widen the scope of HE access and participation across the Black Country and Telford and Wrekin.
Through expanding the number of schools we support and providing a platform for local collaborative activity, we hope to add value to the regional HE access and participation offer.
The Aspire to HE Outreach Hub programme seeks to bring together wider stakeholders – Careers and Enterprise Company, Chamber of Commerce, Local Authority’s, Local
Enterprise Partnerships, Careers Hubs, and the National Citizen Service – to focus our efforts on agreed goals related to HE progression; where we will make a greater impact through focus and collaboration.
On the back of this, we are delighted to announce an Outreach Hub Partnership Match Fund to support the facilitation of existing or new innovative and locally tailored approaches, which address the challenges of HE access and participation for young people and adults.
We have made £100k of match funding available to support this work and are looking to partner with and support organisations across the Black Country and Telford and Wrekin who are either currently supporting or looking to support one of our following priority areas;
1. HE access and progression of Young people in school / FE transition phases and mature learners affected by Covid-19 (Y11, 12 and 13)
2. HE access and progression of communities with lower HE participation including: Areas of lower HE participation or lower socioeconomic status; BAME; Mature learners; Disabled; Care leavers; Carers; Estranged from their families; Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities; Refugees; Children of military families.
